You can find me wearing many different hats, often at the same time! Father, Husband, Son, Uncle, Godfather, Great Friend, Photographer, Website Designer, ‘Corporate management’, iPhone Addict and Small Business Owner.
When I was young and working as a bus boy (very hard work for little pay!!) I learned the value of an education. That experience drove me to earn three degrees – one undergraduate and two graduate (honors) – technical of course,
I have held many roles in the corporate world ranging from student to programmer to process engineer to project manager to manager. I have learned from and loved them all.
I suffer from BADD (Business Attention Deficit Disorder) and sometimes in meetings I can be heard saying “Let’s go with my ‘www.get-to-the-point.com’ theory!”
I have some unusual management philosophies (see my business section for details) but have learned that the phrases “please”, “thank you” and “what do you think?” go a long way in getting things done and getting people to work together!
My teams always have the highest morale, even in the most challenging of business environments. I have driven various prototype vehicles on several test tracks – hmmm – no speed limit signs!? I have always been involved in the yearly United Way campaigns for my community.
My entrepreneurial blood comes from my parents, whom I greatly admire. A good idea, a positive attitude, willingness to work with others and patience/time go along way.
I enjoy watching movies, especially comedies. Give me a good inspirational sports movie and Disney movies… by the way… where is Toy Story III??? When it comes to TV – sitcoms are my favorite and ESPN is a close second. In case you are curious, my nickname comes from both my initials and JR Ewing from Dallas. Long story, trust me!
Favorite foods? Italian and Seafood. My Mom’s Sicilian, what else do I need to say?! I’m not a big drinker at all – but I do enjoy Michigan wine (yes, wine is produced in Northern Michigan, and award-winning, I might add!)
I have Traveled all over with family, but always said the three must see places in the USA are the Grand Canyon, Washington DC and Disney World. My favorite place, of course, is Traverse City, Michigan – I am biased, so what!? (See wine comments above for reference!)
I love Jerry Seinfeld, Jerry Garcia Ties (have 60+ of them) and Ben and Jerry’s Ice Cream – must be in the name!
My first computer was an Apple II+ and I am addicted to my iphone. I even watch my itunes videos while exercising (itunes rocks!). No surprise I love computers and photography; my first camera was Fisher Price camera that I got when I was three years old. I enjoy photography and I am now beginning to take interest in landscape/nature photography.
Books vs Magazines? Magazines of course!
Love attending my sons sporting events – yes, behind the camera at times. They have both learned to play fair, win and lose gracefully and have fun all at the same time. I am very proud of them and enjoy my moments with them.
Each year, I like to bring a new challenge to the table. The latter part of this year and into 2010 has been focused on conquering the technical heartbeat of wordpress blogs. A lot of customers have indicated they would love to join the increasing trend of ’social networking’ and share their success stories with the world. What better way to do this then via a blog – integrated with your smugmug site and other social networks. Please visit the Web Design section for more details and examples. I enjoy working with my customers to better understand their business processes and identify their requirements to implement a successful web site. I love to help them make their websites a reflection of their business, their products, their ‘art’, and more then they ever could imagine.

With many varied interest and an inventive attitude I am always on the go. Whether the “on the go” is being an active parent of two, designing automotive test equipment, providing on-site global automotive trouble-shooting, customizing web-sites, providing computer repair, or being a loving and supportive husband. I always have the energy and stamina to be “on the go”.
My parents always say that I have succeeded in life way beyond their wildest dreams. Interest in a topic and investigation are the impetus for my training. My electronic talents are most likely inherited from my mother’s brother who I am very much like with interests in computers and making unworkable situations work. Being a people person, truly interested in what other people say, feel and care about has served me well. Being willing to go the extra mile or take the extra time has made others, teachers, bosses and customers trust my abilities and talents.
