“I’ve had the great fortune to quietly face endangered animals in the wild many times.
Each time, I strive to connect with their eyes. I yearn to prolong that moment…..
to freeze time in a photograph and somehow communicate a promise; eye to eye…..
a promise that humans can be friend rather than foe.
My tip of the day for wildlife photography: connect with the eyes – low and slow.
Focus on the eyes, strive to shoot at eye‐level with the subject, and move slowly‐very slowly. Here are a few examples of “frozen moments” when my own advice has paid off for me in the field.”
