Nancy of Smooch Photography from Naperville, Illinois specializes in smooch, baby, wedding, and much more!

Nancy shares how she grew from scratch such a passion for photography

“I am a Mom… a Wife… and a passionately crazy photographer who feels blessed to capture life for my own family and others. My business and PASSION for photography grew after I had my children and wanted to capture our moments and our laughter on camera. I dug in full of fear and anxiety and read everything I could about photography and talked to anyone that was willing to talk to me about how to grow my skills and capture the visions I had stuck in my head. This process hasn’t ended. My desire to learn something new about photography hasn’t stopped… I feel inspired daily by my kids and others and never tire of creating new and fun ways to capture the love and laughter around us all.

I am grateful for the special moments I have been blessed to be a part of and document for families. A mother expecting a child, a groom’s watery eyes as his bride walks down the aisle, the dirty feet of children who have been playing in the sand, the high school senior who is about to start a whole new adventure, a preemie in the NICU being loved and miraculously healed through amazing medicine and love, first time parents staring at their week old baby, generations of women walking together on the beach, and people who have fought and survived cancer. I am grateful and inspired. I look forward to many more.

I feel blessed to have contacted Jerry of JR Customization during my search for a new website. Jerry brought passion and eagerness to my project daily and was able to incorporate lots of exciting new features, such as a mobile site. I am excited not only about the look and feel of the website, but also the ease in which I can organize, update, and share my images. Thank you Jerry for your endless hard work. I LOVE the finished project.

LIVE… LAUGH… CAPTURE.”

Captured By Nancy from Chico, California specializes in baby, family, pet, and car photography.

Nancy describes just how much she loves “snapping shot of people”!

“I love photography! But mostly I am in LOVE with snapping shots of people. It is an absolute joy to me when I capture a smile, a moment, a laugh, or an exchange in its’ purest form…when they think I am not shooting! That being said, lifestyle photography is my favorite. Although photography has a technical aspect to it, it’s not where I want to be spending my time. I’d rather be out shooting than at my desk suffering through things I know nothing about. Thanks to a dear friend, I found Jerry Roek. He has created the perfect website for me to display my work and share with clients. I was so grateful to have someone elses time and talent to create and guide me through the technical aspects of something I DREAD! Thanks to Jerry, I saved countless hours of confusion and I gained more time in the field….I love it! Thanks Jerry”

Summit View From Above

Written on July 11, 2010, Posted in smugmug customization examples, stories

Summit View Photography from North Colorado specializes in baby, family, senior, and sports photography.

Christina explains why she loves taking photos and what makes it special for her!

“I’ve always loved photography! As a kid I didn’t have a camera, but I’d always seek out what I thought would be great photos! In college a friend lent me a Nikon and I was hooked. My photo hobby (as my husband referred to it) was always very cyclical depending on how hectic life seemed at the time. After a while, I found photography was a great stress reliever from hectic corporate job and I started taking more and more photos … not only for myself but for family and friends.
I think I love capturing those special faces or special moments the best. I love getting great pictures of kids making funny faces or doing funny things. I recently took some engagement pictures and was overjoyed when I captured the look of love on their faces! A close second to capturing these moments is nature photography. I love pictures of mountains (since I’m a Colorado native), beaches, rivers, flowers and wildlife.
I am overjoyed with Jerry’s work on my website. I knew what I wanted, but I didn’t have the skills to get it there … Jerry did. Not only did he do a great job on the design, but he was also very conscious of my tight deadline, and provided great resources for managing my site. It turned out great!!”

Jennifer Duffy is Lovely

Written on July 10, 2010, Posted in smugmug customization examples, stories

Jennifer Duffy Photography from Nashville, Tennessee specializes in baby, seniors, events, and nature photography.

Jennifer expresses her passion for photography, and her favorite types of photography

“I have always loved art. As a child I would draw, construct, or photographed anything I liked. Photography was a good mix of being able to use light and color. I received a Bachelors in Fine Arts from the University of Memphis and have been in various shows and exhibitions while I was there. And studied it all. Photography, Ceramics, Oil Painting, Watercolor, Sculpture, and Printmaking. I enjoy all forms of art but I have found that after I had my daughter that photography was a way to document life in a way that no drawing can….I still love my print making and Painting…..but it is also not as say, family friendly to have at the house when you have a small child. Photography was a perfect fit. I also had begun to work in a retail photo lab and there I was taught a lot on the chemistry of developing and processing of film as well as the artistic side. I have personally have over 12 years of photography lab experience and photo editing experience.

I am right now working with models and outdoor photography with lighting set ups. If I try something I make sure I know how to do all aspects of the subject. Right now I am learning how to use strobe lights to light my subjects. I find that I like the tonal values found in Rembrandt’s work and gives the subject a small peek into the soul. Learning how to light a subject; to give it the right Chiaroscuro.”

Juli-Anne Warll Photography – From Old…..

Juli-Anne Warll Photography – To New!!!!

Check out Juli-Anne’s exciting new dog book – “Park City – DogTown USA”

What A perfect compliment to her cute dog photos!

Juli-Anne Warll Photography from Park City, Utah specializes in pet, people, and travel photography.

Juli-Anne shares her love for photography <3
“I love taking pictures. But more than that I love that moment when you know you just got your shot. You can feel it. Capturing the energy of people and animals drives my passion the most. This certainly motivated me on my recent project, a dog book, Park City – DogTown USA. I worked with over 100 dogs, most whom I’d never met before. All the shots were done outdoors, so it was anything but a controlled situation. In fact mostly it was very hectic, and I often experienced more energy than I knew what to do with! But, with a lot of patience and persistence it all came together and I’m very happy with the completed book. My hope is when people look through the book it makes them smile and maybe even laugh out loud, then I’ll know I captured some of that spirit of each dog in their photos.”
