D. Sabo Photography photographs nature, wildlife, seascapes and tropical scenics photography from all over the world.

D Sabo Photography writes to us:

“For me personally, I don’t think there is a favorite type of photography because the essence of photography is learning; a desire to explore new processes be it in the field or the digital darkroom. Although my passion is fine art landscapes and underwater photography I have shot weddings, portraitures, and have styled and shot food for restaurants and newspapers.

The essence of photography to me is the moment; that magical moment where your photographic eye sees a composition that you can’t wait to get out the gear and work on. Once when I was in Gizo, Solomon Islands we made a dive at a site named ”Grand Central Station.” It was so named because once you descended down the shallow reef to the outer portion of the reef’s wall into the deep, a parade of pelagics (open ocean big fish) might be seen swimming by in the fast current. Hammerheads, jacks, tuna, dolphins, and even an occasional Orca might be spotted by the lucky. Although we were unlucky on this trip when I ascended into the shallows to complete my safety stop, I happened onto one of the most beautiful shallow reefs I have every witnessed. There in a kaleidoscope of colors, yellow, orange, red, and purple were soft corals, crinoids, and thousands of tiny fish (anthias) playfully darting in and out of the many cuts and crevices in the reef. I shot 36 images in less than 5 minutes, ascended to the boat; changed film (Yes, there was something prior to digital) and descended upon this extravaganza once again. ”

That magical moment brings it all into perspective for me. This image is on my website in the gallery, ‘Seascapes’.”

D Sabo Photography comments on jR Customization : “In today’s world of instant information, instant return of phone calls or e-mails is an exception not the norm. That is unless you work with jR customization. jR’s prompt return of phone calls, attention to the matter at hand, and professional etiquette is truly awesome in today’s fast paced business world. I highly recommend his work for those just starting out or those who do not have a good handle on html and CSS styles. It was an enjoyable business relationship experience and one that I hope to build upon in the future.”

It was back in the summer of 2007. One evening I was surfing through the Smugmug popular photos page and came across Jaki Good Photography. I spent awhile surfing through Jaki’s site admiring her photography. I was truely amazed and I e-mailed Jaki complimenting her on her wonderful art!

Soon after, Jaki contacted me about customizing her smugmug site. Over the past few years, I have had the opportunity to work with Jaki on implementing a variety of new technology on her site. Since our collaboration her site now includes slideshow pro and PayPal collections for sitting fees/wedding down payments. You can see Jaki’s willingness to try different things in her photography. Jaki challenged my technical skills as well. She called me one time and told me she did not want the same slideshow on the home page to appear all of the time. “I get a lot of returning visitors and I want them to see something new!” So we came up with a method in which slideshowpro would generate a random slideshow for the site visitor. They may see the weddings slideshow or the seniors slideshows or the family slideshow – randomly selected.
With the amount of inquiries I receive on smugmug customization, Jaki’s site is one of the top sites I get compliments on (“I want my site to be just like Jaki Goods!”).

Every year I like to introduce some new technology to offer my customers. I thought would start off the year early with customizing
Showit/Smugmug/WordPress together in one seamless website. After returning from Imaging USA, I decided to take on this challenge I had set for myself, and I wanted to work with a photographer to make this initiative a success. At the same time, Jaki e-mailed me about some changes to her site. I called Jaki and shared with her what I learned about Showit and Smugmug and how well the platforms integrate with each other. Jaki really wanted to take her site to the next level to show off her wonderful art. She said “Jerry – I just want my site to kick ass!”

When we launched Jaki’s site on Facebook, the amount of comments, e-mails and phone calls was overwhelming. “Amazing” was the word we heard most often!

Jaki Wrote to me “sometimes i am truly amazed that i get paid to do something i love so much. when i am on a photo session, i am in FLOW – in the zone. time passes so quickly and i absolutely love every minute of it. i have many interests in my life, but photography is truly my passion. my photo sessions delight me – from helping my clients with clothing choices, to deciding on the perfect locations, to spending time with my them and bringing out their personalities in my photos. i have recently ventured into studio photography, but my niche is certainly on location, using natural light and real, dynamic settings. i feel blessed to be a photographer. sometimes the large amounts of editing, deadlines, and ordering seem like work, but taking pictures, creating snapshots in time, and getting to know so many wonderful people never gets old. my love for nature, art, and people all make photography the perfect fit for me.”

Photographer and Owner Maranda Young from North Carolina enjoys wedding, portait and commercial photography.

Forever Young Photography LLC’s work “includes a mix of weddings, portraits, events, and commercial photography. Our services are available worldwide. Being an owner of a photography business is a great career. You get to meet a lot of wonderful people and see a lot of beautiful places. As a wedding photographer, you are invited into some of the most important days of a couple’s life. I love seeing their smiles, laughs, tears when they look at their wedding albums for the first time. It is a great feeling to know that you have done something so special for them – capturing and helping to preserve their memories of this ever so important day in their life. With photography, there is never a point where you stop learning and stretching yourself to new limits. I love that you can continue to grow as a photographer and your creativity can be endless.”

Maranda talks about her website : “I wanted my website to stand out and look different than other photographer’s websites. I did a lot of research to see what was available out there – templates, website design companies, etc. I then spent a lot of time planning out all the details and what I wanted for my website. I decided I wanted to use a company that had worked with Smugmug sites before and was familiar with the way Smugmug websites were set up. I found Jerry by chance. Just a quick Google Search looking for companies that could customize Smugmug sites. I really lucked out. Jerry was very attentive to all my little details as I already had a rough draft of my website laid out on paper and needed someone to translate my ideas into action. And he did just that. I love my new website and I love that I can easily make changes on my own in the future to keep my content and photographs fresh. Thanks again Jerry for making my site a reality!!”

Photographer and Owner Eva Glasscock from Denham Springs Louisiana enjoys wedding, portrait, children, senior and family photography.

Eva writes “Photography became a love of mine about 3 1/2 years ago when I decided that I would buy a camera for the purpose of taking quality portraits of my 2 girls. Little did I know that this would begin a love affair with photography that has never ended. After nearly four years and lots of learning, I am now the proud owner of Ablaze Studios Photography. I am a teacher by trade (13 years of middle school math), and I love teaching, but I decided to take a sabbatical this year to spend more time with my family. This has given me the opportunity to learn more about the trade I love. I am so proud to have captured some great portraits of some really great people! I am looking forward to many more years to come!”

Eva commennts about her web site : “Jerry was a lifesaver for me. I was able to put my website in his hands, and he (along with Brittney Melton Photography and Design) created a beautiful masterpiece. I didn’t have to worry about anything, and that was a relief. Thank you Jerry for a fabulous website!”

Leung Photography from New York City New York specializes in cityscape, panorama and nature photography.

Hoyman from Leung Photography writes to us:

“I was taught the basic of handling an old Nikon 35mm film SLR about 30 years ago. I was really blown away at the quality of 35mm film and the ability to cature a moment. Â I remember the 2 lenses that I used were the 50mm 1.4 and the 105mm 2.5. Incedible dof really made me wonder what else I can do. From then on, I have been hooked to photography.”

As you can see, Hoymans favorite photography is “Cityscape panoramas. The amount of detail that you can capture on panorama photography is just incredible. Couple that with the density of city life and how closely people live together and the compactness of living quarters are all very intriguing.”

Hoyman commensts about his website : “The Website design was done by jR. The simplicity and high-impact of the design makes it a winner! I love the new changes and I think it will be a great addition to assist me in growing as a photographer.”

Photographer and Owner Jeni Rone from Charleston South Carolina enjoys wedding, portrait, event, pet and artistic photography.

Jeni writes about her love of photography: “My first memory of my creative process was the huge white dress box full of scraps my Mom collected from magazines, glitter, and pieces of construction paper with a really big bottle of Elmer’s glue! The collages I created were my first “photos” of the colors I saw and the scenes in my life. With a very creative support line from my parents, art teachers, mentors and my wonderful brother and sister, I have developed my photography skills into sharing life’s collages with everyone. Watching a slide show from an event or just staring at a bucket of crabs, I try and tell a story. These stories could be of a famous artist smiling for a new head shot, a puppy guarding “his beach” or a groom turning red when he sees the love of his life appear at the end of the isle.”

Jeni commented about jR Customization: “In order to properly convey the passion and love in my heart that comes out in my photographs I need a fabulous website. That’s where Jerry comes in! With easy, thoughtful and step by step instructions Jerry has helped my passion evolve into a beautiful website that will encourage, enlighten and engage those that find my work inspiring. I cannot thank you enough Jerry!” xo -jeni

Jeni: You are THE BEST Jerry... THANK YOU!

Starving Photographer specializes in National Parks, Landscapes, Animals, People and Abstract photography.

Mahesh writes why he loves photography : “I’ve never actually used film. That’s not entirely true. I’ve used those disposable cameras you find on tables at wedding receptions. I suppose I should say, I’ve never used film in any serious way. I’ve never developed film, worked with photography chemicals, or even been in a dark room. I am a product of the digital age. My first camera was a Kodak DC220, which had a maximum resolution of 1152 x 864 pixels (sub 1 megapixel), and I took that thing everywhere. Going through medical school at the time, I was intimately familiar with delayed gratification. The Kodak allowed me to explore my creative side, and LCD screen on the back gave me instead gratification. From my first digital photograph, I was “hooked.” It’s been over a decade, and I now use 20+ megapixel cameras, but I still feel the same excitement every time I press the shutter release. My favorite photography subjects have always been landscape and nature. It makes outdoor activities such as hiking and backpacking even more enjoyable.”

Jerry is a gifted and patient web designer. He took my ho-hum website and turned it into something I’m proud to show everyone. I’m extremely happy with his work and dedication. His expert skill allows me to concentrate my efforts on photography rather than web design. Thank you, Jerry…you’re one in a million!
